Day 15 – BFL (Monday)

I’m getting rest but I’m going to bed too late at night and its catching up with me. I got up this morning with a scratchy throat (only 7 hrs of sleep!). My tutoring session drag on last night until 10:30pm — although I got so much out of it. I’m a lot less stressed when I understand my math assignments. This time the trade off was my sleep and now I feel like I’m fighting off a bug. My nanny had an emergency today so I filled in (again). At least I was able to sleep in 1 hr since I was doing the morning school drop with the kids. We actually had a pretty good (stress-free) morning together!

I’m realizing something about myself — I need exactly 8 hrs of sleep and nothing short of it! It never fails — every time I get less sleep I get a scratchy irritated throat and drippy nose. I believe that since this season of my life is so stressful that sleep must be my source of staying healthy! I really need to get a handle on getting to bed before 9pm and here I’m up again at 9:48 blogging and finishing my math homework! But, I’m almost done…just one more semester before graduation!!! Focus, focus, focus…

Day 14 – BFL (Sunday)

Today is supposed to be my ‘free day’ but since I had a popcorn yesterday I decided to swap the days. The morning I kinda hung out with the kids before church (second service). Finally I was able to arrange a tutoring session but it didn’t start until 8:30p-10pm…way late for me! But I have an amazing math tutor who really knows how to explain it. Well worth the dough$$$. Looks like I’m off to bed late again 😦 but looking forward to a new week –entering Week 3!

The weather was beautiful today – upper 60’s! I was a little anxious early in the morning because I had a ton of homework to ‘catch’ up on. I arranged a sitter and spent most of my morning in Panera working on math. In the evening the kids went with dad out for a bit while mom went to a movie. I went to see Bounty Hunter (Jennifer Aniston) and it was pretty funny. I swapped my free day so I could order a small popcorn (without butter)…actually it tasted better without all the grease!

Day 12 – BFL (Friday)

Today my morning helper was off so I dropped the kids. We had a calm, pleasant morning together. After the drop I headed to the gym and had a great workout. I decided not to do cardio (to make up yesterday’s missed cardio session) because my muscles felt fatigued. I’m learning to listen to my body. Today, the Fitness Rep, Bobby at Snap Fitness took my measurements for me….thanks Bobby – you rock! So here they are:

Today I broke down and had chocolate dessert! I was the guilty initiator of the dessert! I have got to find another alternative for those moments of weakness and keep my stash at work. I wonder if my body is missing some nutrient in chocolate becuase I had a strong craving for dark velvity chocolate. To make matters worse, I didn’t make the gym today either…yikes! Will do better tomorrow. In summary, this was partially due to my poor menu planning and rushing out the door this morning. I’m a little over-whelmed with my school work today that is getting further behind each day. Just 4 more weeks and it will be done – I must hang in there!!!

Today was amazing! During my upper body workout I hit many 10’s!!! I used my new gym membership at Snap Fitness and weighed in without shoes. My weight today was 179 lbs (starting weight 10 days ago was 182lbs!!!). Hooray – I lost 3 lbs!

Day 9 – BFL (Tuesday)

Today I’m happy to say I am back on schedule! After a dreadful migraine last night (and a missed lower body workout yesterday) I was a little discouraged at first. But I’ve stuck to the plan today and had a fantasic lower body workout just moments ago! I even hit a couple of 10’s!!! Usually I would panic and try to make up the missed workout but I think that catching up for lost time is a waste of time!  Instead I’m choosing to move forward and not sweat what’s behind me. Today I would have preferred making up the lost 20 minutes of cardio along with my workout today but there just wasn’t enough time because I had a meeting soon after the gym. No biggie…keep looking ahead!
